Teacher education has a remarkable history in Ballarat, stretching back more than a century. From the establishment of Aquinas Training College by the Sisters of Mercy in 1909, through the evolution of Catholic teacher education in Ballarat and the establishment of ACU, generations of educators have studied, taught and built community here.

On Sunday 25 October, the school community will come together to celebrate that legacy, reflect on where Education in Ballarat is today, and share some of the exciting initiatives and opportunities shaping its future.

The afternoon will include reflections on our history and achievements, an update on Education at ACU Ballarat today, a look towards what comes next, and an opportunity to tour the recently revitalised Carn Brea.

When: Sunday 25 October 2026, 3.30–6.00 pm
Where: ACU Ballarat Campus (Aquinas), 1200 Mair Street, Ballarat
