Last week, St Mary's Primary School, Ararat has officially opened its new learning facilities, marking an exciting milestone for the school community.
The $3.15 million project, supported by a $2 million Victorian Government grant and local co-contribution, has delivered contemporary new spaces for learning, wellbeing and collaboration.
The official opening included a blessing by Bishop Mark, prayer led by Grade 6 students, and the unveiling of the commemorative plaque by Principal Roxanne Leed and Member for Ripon Martha Haylett. Guests also heard from Tom Sexton, DOBCEL Executive Director, and several of the Sisters whose involvement with St Mary’s spans many decades and generations. The community cross created by St Mary’s teacher Toni Stockwell with contributions from students was a powerful symbol of the story of St Mary’s – many unique pieces coming together to create something beautiful.
