Season 1 of Catholic Education Ballarat: Towards 2035 – Bold & Brave, But Not Reckless – is now available, and it offers a compelling look at the thinking behind DOBCEL’s long-term strategy for a high-performing system of Catholic schools.
Across nine episodes, the series brings together system leaders, principals and global voices to explore why a new strategy was needed, how it was shaped, and what it means for our schools and communities. From the opening conversation with Executive Director Tom Sexton, through to insights from internationally recognised educator Pasi Sahlberg and Future Schools Director Dave Runge, the series connects global ideas with local reality.
Interspersed throughout are “School Voices” conversations, where principals share honest reflections on leading change in their own contexts – grounding the strategy in the everyday life of schools across the Diocese.
It’s a series that not only looks back on the co-design of Strategy 2035, but also begins to point forward – particularly in the final episode, which opens up the “engine room” of the strategy, including the pillars, principles and emerging Collaborative Innovation Research Prototypes (CIRPs).
