The St Columba's School community in Ballarat North recently celebrated the completion of a significant $2.9 million redevelopment, delivering more accessible, inclusive and contemporary learning environments for students.
The milestone was marked alongside Member for Ballarat Catherine King, with the project supported by $2 million in funding through the Australian Government's Capital Grants Program.
The extensive upgrade has transformed key learning areas across the school, including the creation of four fully accessible classrooms and a central collaborative learning space designed for Year 5 and 6 students. Significant accessibility improvements have also been implemented throughout the campus, enabling students to move more easily and independently between learning spaces.
A key feature of the redevelopment is the revitalisation of the historic Columba Wing, originally built in 1911. The refurbishment has introduced additional natural light, improved accessibility and enhanced soundproofing, creating calmer and more inclusive learning environments while preserving the character of this important heritage space.

Following 12 months of construction, the project stands as a testament to the patience, resilience and adaptability shown by students and staff throughout the redevelopment process.
