Our recent Diocesan Leadership Gathering (DLG) brought principals and system leaders together for a day of shared learning, reflection and collaboration.
Following prayer and welcome, Executive Director Tom Sexton outlined key priorities shaping 2026, including progress on the DS2035 Implementation Plan. A highlight of the morning was the presentation of Principal Induction completion certificates, recognising our newest leaders.
Leaders received updates on School Improvement, Capital Grants, and major initiatives for the year ahead. The Leadership Capability Framework and Staff Wellbeing documents were also introduced and warmly received.
A strong focus of the day was Student Agency, with leaders exploring practical ways to strengthen student voice and engagement in their own contexts. Benchmarking discussions supported schools to identify meaningful measures of progress aligned to our strategic aspirations.
The afternoon emphasised collaboration and professional culture, alongside the sharing of good practice across the Diocese, including Schoolwide Positive Behaviour, international recruitment and dialogue as a leadership practice.
The day concluded with an engaging “On the Grill” panel featuring our new principals and leaders – an entertaining way for everyone to get to know our newest faces.
DLG continues to be a valuable forum for connection and collective commitment to improving outcomes for every student in our care.
